Chatham Removals is a moving company rooted in the Medway towns. We do the ordinary well — house and office moves across Chatham, Gillingham, Rochester, Strood and Rainham — and we plan the extraordinary, the moves that carry on past Dover to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal. What ties the two together is a way of working, not a slogan.
The idea is boring on purpose
Most bad moving-day stories share a root: a gap between what was promised and what turned up. A price that crept. A crew that was a person short for the stairs. A “we’ll sort it on the day” that never got sorted. We built this firm to close that gap — which means the interesting part of what we do is, deliberately, the least dramatic. We measure. We write it down. We say the difficult thing early.
Medway is a good place to work that way, because Medway moves are rarely simple. The terraced hills of ME4 and ME5, the High Street flats above the shops, the estates where the kerb is a long carry from the door — every job has a wrinkle, and pretending otherwise is how moves go wrong. We’d rather know the wrinkle and plan around it.

A price for a job nobody has seen is a guess. We survey — in person or over video — and write down what’s included before a figure is fixed.

The piano, the third-floor flat, the street the lorry can’t reach. We raise these at the survey, not on the morning of the move.

Draw the line where you want it
Full pack or fragile-only, whole load or part-load, storage or straight through. You decide the scope; we price exactly that.

Carry the customs
On a European move, the paperwork is ours to handle. You shouldn’t have to learn transit declarations to move house.
Local and international, one team
We don’t run a separate outfit for the moves abroad. The crew that carries a wardrobe down a Chatham stair is the crew that protects and loads for a run to the Algarve — the international side simply adds a route plan and the customs paperwork on top. Keeping it one team is deliberate: the care that a good local move depends on is exactly the care a two-thousand-mile move needs more of, not less.
